Kate Ivey, MA, LPC
I am a Colorado native, born and raised in Aurora. I attended Overland High School, University of Colorado in Colorado Springs, and Northern Arizona University where I received my Masters in Counseling in 2011.
I have been blessed with many wonderful and diverse opportunities in the counseling field including working within the foster care system, crisis intervention, domestic violence and substance abuse treatment, school-based staff and administration support, and child and adolescent counseling. I found my passion for working with adults, particularly women, while growing my family. I strongly believe that when women are well supported and feel attuned to their inherent strengths, they are a fierce and healing force in this world. I aim to integrate a culturally informed, trauma informed, and healthy attachment lens in all that I do.
Over the years, I have received specialized training in many areas including EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), IFS (internal family systems), CBT (cognitive behavior therapy), Attachment and Interpersonal Neuroscience, and Perinatal Mental Health. I am currently working towards certification in sex therapy and have found a new passion in empowering women and couples in their intimacy journeys.
I now live in Southeast Aurora with my wonderful husband and three beautiful children. Despite growing up in Colorado, I am not a fan of the snow. The beach has my heart. I love to read, drink coffee, date my husband, eat snacks, watch documentaries, have girls nights, go on little dates with my kids, and have slow mornings.
